By now most people across Fiji and the world know that Fiji's dictator, JV Bainimarama, also known as Frank, is nothing but a show-off who likes to grandstand and talk as if his own record is squeaky clean. It isn't!
People may not be aware, or refuse to believe, that JV Bainimarama threatened his Commander in Chief, and the Government, to renew his contract as the Commander of the Fiji military! Bainimarama is the First Military Commander to do so. This is treason! It is also not the act of person with high principles or any loyalty towards his Commander in Chief! This is not the act of a true Military Commander. Then in December 2006 he carried out a coup to stop the then Police Commissioner, Hughes, from arresting him for his crimes. This would have meant a sure prison sentence for Bainimarama and his corrupt supporters!
Bainimarama was also declared unfit during an interview to be promoted to Rear Admiral for a senior UN posting. The interviewers were at a loss as to how Bainimarama, with such poor intellect, was even promoted military Commander. This is another story. So our very principled [NOT] Bainimarama then promoted himself to a Rear Admiral. This is similar to a diploma qualified dentist promoting herself to the status of "Doctor".
Bainimarama's closest qualification for the rank of Rear Admiral could be his track record that shows that he is always in the "rear", conniving - pushing the CRW soldiers to carryout the coup with Speight in 2000 while he ran away to Norway, removing his then Commander in Chief, Ratu Sir KKT Mara, from Office, and when the coup failed he quickly deflected all blame on to the CRW soldiers. He then ran away in fright during the subsequent mutiny and pooped in his pants in the process [the First Military Commander to do so], then he ordered the beating and killing of the CRW soldiers, and used the military to support his coup. Bainimarama also refuses to let Speight reveal what he knows about the 2000 coup, including naming who funded it, who supported it and who all the key players are.
Bainimarama is NOT Principled at all!!!
And now, while commissioning a hospital vessel [which we all hope will be nothing like the empty hospital buildings the FijiFirst party built around the country before the 2014 elections to fool poor voters, where patients found that they must supply their own bedding, eating utensils, toiletries, food and even medication] he began to rant on and accused the head of NFP of never having steered a ship! That maybe so, but who cares!
The head of NFP didn't create Fiji's highest ever Cost of Living or highest ever levels of unemployment and poverty like Bainimarama has done since December 2006, or the highest ever levels of debt and corruption in Fiji than ever before! JV Bainimarama did all this, which has true investors staying away from Fiji because there is also no rule of law to safe-guard their investments!
But Bainimarama ranted on trying to impress the crowd, accusing SODELPA and NFP of empty promises and flat-out lies. Oh really? Remember that Bainimarama PROMISED before the 2014 elections that if he won his government would not add VAT to basic food items! Remember that? And then he won a rigged election and did the exact opposite and added VAT to basic foods! He also said that no military person would benefit from his coup! Another lie! Bainimarama is the one breaking promises!
Then he claims that “SODELPA and NFP are not guided by realism. SODELPA and NFP aren’t driven by principle. SODELPA and NFP are driven by desperate attempts to remain relevant in an economy where all of their accusations and critiques have been proven wrong” What a load of rubbish!
SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka said it was unfortunate that Bainimarama decided to engage in political mudslinging which is unbecoming of the PM to make petty attacks and arguments without any statistical basis...! Rabuka suggests that perhaps Bainimarama is now worried because people are no longer buying into his propaganda and all the misinformation from his speechwriters. Prof Prasad summed it nicely in quoting NFP’s founding leader, A D Patel, who said that it is easy to be a ranting politician. It is difficult to be a statesman.
SAKA is an indigenous Fijian term of respect that refers to Sir or Madam.
Fijivillage reported that Fiji's dictator and murderer PM, JV Bainimarama, claimed that Fiji is the strongest, the most prosperous, innovative and united it has ever been. Yeah right!
If this were true, than why do JV Bainimarama and Khaiyum need so many bodyguards around them at all times. Khaiyum with 30 and Bainimarama with 50! And why do they see the need to restrict freedom of speech, marches and protests and to prosecute journalists and members of the opposition if Fiji is so prosperous and united as Bainimarama claims. Why? Because it isn't so!
Under JV Bainimarama's dictatorship Fiji is facing its highest ever levels of national debt of close to $7 billion, its highest ever cost of living, highest poverty, highest unemployment, highest crime, nepotism, land theft, indigenous cultural genocide, rigged elections, torture and corruption than ever before! This is a clear indicator that Fiji is not as prosperous and united as Bainimarama claims.
So JV Bainimarama lied to close to 20 prominent business people from Melbourne and Sydney during a business luncheon at the Crown Towers in Melbourne, Australia.
Only a fool would believe Bainimarama who claimed that opportunities existed for Australian investors in growing the Fijian economy under his corrupt dictatorship. Bainimarama's claim that Fiji has done exceptionally well over the past decade is a lie. Only he and his corrupt family and friends have done exceptionally well since he overthrew the last democratically elected government in Fiji. An act he did to stop the police from arresting him for his crimes of treason, murder and corruption.
Many investors are rightfully choosing to stay away from investing in Fiji at this time because they also know that there is no Rule of Law in Fiji to protect their investments, and that any viable investment in Fiji involves bribing both Bainimarama and Khaiyum.
Fiji's Biased Speaker of Parliament, the self-promoted doctor, Jiko Luveni, says that she will not be dealing with a complaint lodged by the National Federation Party’s Youth Wing President, Sharveen Chaudhry, against Fiji First Government MP Howard Politini
Fijivillage reported that Chaudhry claims that Politini had "approached him and his colleague in the parliament car park and was visibly angry, biting down on his lower lip and shouting". This confrontation was in regards to an NFP Youth Wing Facebook post that showed Politini's reaction to their submission to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence. Politini was the Acting Chair of that Committee.
According to Chaudhry, Politini threatened him to “watch out” stating that their offices were in the same building after which Politini then repeatedly called Chaudhry and his colleague “rubbish people”. This is so childish! It also highlights the immature nature of many of Bainimarama's Fiji First ministers.
Fijivillage also reported that the office of the Secretary General to Parliament had said that the allegations against Politini, a Fiji First government MP, related to comments that were not made either in Parliament or a Committee of the Parliament, therefore, the comments do not constitute grounds for the matter to be dealt with by the Speaker according to the Standing Orders. What a load of rubbish!
Article 76 of the parliamentary Standing Orders stipulates 28 days maximum suspension of MPs for disorderly conduct and suspension of one calendar year for disobeying the speaker.
Remember Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu? The Social Democratic Liberal Party MP who became the first Opposition MP to be suspended, in May 2015, for two years, for making derogatory comments in the native Fijian language against the speaker of parliament, Jiko Luveni, during one of his party constituency meetings. Outside of Parliament! Remember this?
Given Jiko Luveni's biased rulings since becoming the Speaker and clearly a puppet of the FijiFirst government, many would be forgiven for sharing Ratu Lalabalavu's sentiments. He had apparently called her a "vutu sona", loosely translated its an ass giver!
Ratu Lalabalavu was made to make a public apology to the speaker and barred from entering the parliament precincts. Ratu Lalabalavu's suspension was arbitrary and contrary to the governing rules of the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji. And here we go again with the Speaker ignoring Chaudhry's complaint about being threatened and intimidated by the Fiji First Government MP Howard Politini.
Fiji Exposed will keep exposing - concerns that online safety law could be used to target political critics writes Lauren Beldi on Pacific Beat.
People whose online posts cause harm to another individual could be fined up to twenty thousand Fijian dollars or jailed for up to five years under a new online safety law passed in Fiji's parliament this week.
The attorney general, reports Beldi, insists that the bill is intended to protect vulnerable people - like children - from distressing and inappropriate content, bullying and harassment.
But a moderator of a popular Facebook page in Fiji, Fiji Exposed Forum, that aims to expose government corruption and promote transparency says the law is targeting them for their political posts, and that the word "harm" needs to be more clearly defined.
Fiji Exposed Forum, with its over 130,000 members, is reaching more and more people across Fiji, informing them of the real TRUTH about the Bainimarama government's crimes, lies, land theft, cultural genocide, nepotism and corruption that AG Khaiyum does not want the people to know about!
The Fiji Times reports that the Fiji Navy has produced more recruits, during a pass-out parade at the Togalevu Naval Base outside of Lami, on Thursday, May 17, 2018. This is interesting especially when Fiji has no working ships! Click HERE to read more
Speaking from Bonn, Germany, Fiji's dictator Prime Minister, who committed sedition, treason, rape and murder, and is supporting the cultural genocide of indigenous Fijians, FijiFirst leader Voreqe Bainimarama said that “The snake changes its skin, but it’s still a snake.” So true, and Bainimarama should know, because this is one thing he is very good at! Just look at his record since becoming Military Commander in 2009!
At least Rabuka has learnt from his mistakes and indeed changed for the better! Not so for JV Bainimarama who refuses to give up power and forced Fiji, under the gun, to its highest levels of poverty, cost of living, unemployment, corruption, nepotism, racism and national debt!
So Bainimarama, the uneducated 4th form drop out and deck-hand, was describing himself while attempting to provide a smart-ass response to the SODELPA party leader Sitiveni Rabuka's claims that he believes that he, Rabuka, is a changed man from the person he was 31 years ago.
Mr Rabuka was responding to questions in a radio interview when he told New Zealand’s Radio Tarana that he was a changed man going into this year’s General Election. “I’ve learnt a lot from what I have done,” Mr Rabuka said, “I’ve admitted to the mistakes of the past and you saw what I could do with the people’s co-operation between 1992 and 1999. If people believe what I did then and my commitment to the 1997 Constitution formulation, they should be able to continue and trust me going forward.” Mr Rabuka also said that most of those who are in Fiji saw the transformation from 1987 to 1997. He also said that he accepted the results of the polls in 1999 and departed. He remains adamant that if SODELPA gets into Government, they will reinstate the Great Council of Chiefs. He claims it is part of iTaukei [indigenous Fijian] culture. Remember that JV Bainimarama is considered in Fiji, especially in the military, as a half-caste, a kai-loma, not a Fijian.
JV Bainimarama the con-artist, lied to the people of Fiji in 2014 that no VAT would apply to basic food items. 9% VAT was added after the rigged 2014 election thus increasing the cost of living and adding a further burden on 30% of the country already living beneath the national poverty line.
Don't forget that the Bainimarama dictatorship also reduced the FNPF pensions without consultation with its members, forcing many further into poverty and distress as they struggle to live on half of their already meager pensions.
Meanwhile, the dictator increased his own salary by over 1000% and pays himself an added $3000 per day travel allowance, which is in addition to his self imposed taxpayer funded travel, meals, accommodation and expense account.
As the 2018 Fiji General Election approaches many still wonder how come members of the Police and Military still choose to support Bainimarama and his puppet queen Sayed Khaiyum despite the clear evidence of Corruption, indigenous cultural genocide, land theft, nepotism and no-rule of law!
Is it that Fiji's new so-called disciplined forces are that corrupt? OR is the officer entry exam now at an all-time low under Bainimarama that they are so gullible and koco their new found wealth -- and to hell with honour and integrity? Or maybe they know exactly what they are doing and their daily display of prayers are all FAKE, just for show, as they pray with closed eyes, look humble and say the right fancy words with feverish acting that have no connection to their daily routine. A routine of intimidation, illegal arrests, beatings and turning a blind eye to the truth and injustices dished out on fellow citizens who do not support the corrupt and lying dictatorship of JV Bainimarama and Sayed Khaiyum who are removing their cultural autonomy.
We know that not all men and women in the police, military and public service support the dictatorship. But this means very little if they remain silent in the belief that their vote is all that is needed to make a difference come election day 2018. It wont!
Just look at the 2014 election, it was rigged!! The rigged process and results were also supported and endorsed by so-called academics and representatives from the patronizing Multinational Observer Group [MOG] who were afraid to speak the truth about the rigged election and to defend a true democratic and free and fair election process! Yet each year they celebrate the memory of the brave men and women who fought and died for the democracy and freedom they enjoy. Remember that the thousands of deaths occurring next door in West Papua are deliberately being ignored. So where does all this leave Fiji's pro-democracy groups and supporters? We're on our own!
But don't despair! We have people power that we must harness!
Rajend Naidu from Sydney, explains this in his letter to the editor @canberratimes.com.au.
"It's happened again. People power getting rid of a ruler who manipulated the political system to hang onto power. The last time we witnessed people power in action on that scale was when the people of the Philipines took to the streets to force dictator Ferdinand Marcos to flee to Hawaii wearing his diaper .
This time it's happened in Armenia. Eleven days of street protest succeeded in forcing the PM Serzh Sargsyan to resign. He tried to cynically manipulate the constitution to cling to power after already having been in power for a decade in the former Soviet satellite state as President.
The Armenian people decided enough was enough and they would not tolerate this blatant abuse of power. Like the Phillipine people power revolution in the Armenian people power protest many soldiers too decided to join the people.
The Armenian leader had enough good sense to recognise the writing on the wall and accept the peoples' demand to resign.
That should again be a reminder to rogue leaders that hanging onto power is a case of merely procrastinating the inevitable.
So it is essential that all opposition parties put their differences and self-interests aside, for now, and rally together all their supporters to one aim, the removal of the corrupt and lying dictatorship of JV Bainimarama and Sayed Khaiyum. This is the objective! Once this is achieved, then a new constitution, freely decided by the people, can be implemented with the rule-of-law under a truly free and independent judiciary filled with proper qualified judges. Elected officials can then oversee the undoing of the evil decrees of the Bainimarama dictatorship.
No revenge attacks are to be taken against any person or entity, this will be the domain of the courts where evidence will determine a person's guilt and the appropriate punishment meted out according to law. Remember that many have also changed sides after seeing first-hand the lies and corruption of Bainimarama and Sayed Khaiyum. Many also suspect that the president, Major General Jioji Konrote, will jump ship, AGAIN, and join the winning side with his infamous "Fara two-step".
The new government, elected by the people, will decide how best to free us from the highest levels of poverty, debt, crime and cost of living in Fiji's history since independence. Fiji can once again begin to start living within its resources and without the koco mentality of the past 12 years. But to get here we first must overcome the 2018 election which is expected to be rigged in favour of the FijiFirst Bainimarama party. The errors of 2014 must not be repeated.
All opposition parties must also organise themselves to ensure they have adequate representation to oversee all voting documents, booths and counting centres! The vote counting process and computer systems must also be accessible to all parties and be made available for an independent audit. This will not be freely given so it must be demanded and even fought for! It can also be expected that any "application to protest" will be declined by the dictatorship, so all supporters need to be able to walk out and march together as one in People Power.
We already have many leaders among us, in you, brave men and women each doing their bit, no matter how big or small, who are willing and able to lead the rest of us to victory.
