FIJI DAY 2014 marks a new dawn of corruption, nepotism, brutality, cronyism and more land-theft and lies! Already two citizens have been assaulted: a 60 year man beaten by soldiers and police officers on the dictators orders; and a photographer was slapped across the face by Bainimarama, the dictator. Yes, Fiji is on its way to a new low of brutal dictatorship and corruption thanks to arrogant and deceitful trash that dictated that Fiji's fraudulent elections were credible, free and fair! But no voter from any of the countries these deceitful Multinational Observer Group come from will ever accept the same fraudulent tactics [applied by the Bainimarama dictatorship] to be a part of the "free and fair democratic" elections in their country.

Now Fiji faces what Professor Wadan Narsey decribes as a New Catastrophic Risk to Fijian sovereignty.

Prof Narsey argues that if everyone in Fiji follows the Adam Smith economic model of looking after their own selfish interests, then the political result may be a loss of Fijian sovereignty in Fiji.  Therefore, argues Prof Narsey, there is a critical need for the "Intellectual Fijian bati”.

In his article Prof Narsey points out that:
  • The Fiji First Party [FFP] is a dictatorship of two without any internal democracy, therefore FFP Cabinet Ministers and backbenchers will follow orders blindly, even if questionable on professional and ethical grounds
  • Civil servants have also been totally intimidated and follow orders blindly. Evidence is the circumvention of all our environmental laws, without accountability.
  • New foreign investors will be even more powerful and possibly totally under the control of government, with all key decisions being made by Bainimarama and Khaiyum, not other FFP Ministers
  • Parliament is likely to be totally ineffective as the rules have already been set
  • Civil society organisations are powerless to protest
  • Professional organisations of accountants and lawyers have capitulated to the Bainimarama Regime without a fight
  • The few brave ones in SODELPA have not received the public support they need from Fijian intellectuals and “Business as usual” will see a possibly irreversible erosion of Fijian sovereignty.
