Fiji sugar workers vote to strike

Fiji's Dictator Frank Bainimarama and his megalomaniac puppeteer Khaiyum are milking (robbing) Fiji of its resources and wealth, and caused the drastic decline in the economy, investments and the sugar industry - to its lowest levels ever in Fiji's history.

Now the Fiji Sugar and General Workers’ Union says that two thirds of its members, who are sugar mill workers, have voted to take strike action.  They voted even though the Fiji Sugar Corporation threatened its workers and Fiji soldiers and police were at polling stations and even interfered with the voting process.

The unions claim that workers earn below the poverty line, with wages declining by 40 percent in real terms in the past seven years.   And last week, the Corporation agreed to give workers a rise of 5.3 percent.  Meanwhile, Bainimarama and Khaiyum, are receiving multiple wages in excess of $700,000 each, for roles they are clearly not qualified for and neither where they appointed by the people of Fiji.

Bainimarama's megalomaniac puppeteer Khaiyum also accused the general secretary of the union, Felix Anthony, of abusing his power in a vain attempt to survive at a time when his relevance in the economy has become questionable.   This is blatant hypocrisy and clearly shows Khaiyum's arrogance, which is typical of a liar and a thief trying to appear righteous when he himself is more guilty of these very acts.

This vote by the sugar workers also highlights a changing culture where the people are so fed up with the lies by Khaiyum and Bainimarama, that they are no longer afraid and are standing-up for their rights.  Solidarity by the people will win the day.
