President Thomas Jefferson once said that the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is its natural manure.
In Fiji the Opposition seem content to stop only at words in defense of the people's rights and liberties. Yes the people of Fiji did their part and voted for change in the 2018 election. But their vote was ignored by the corrupt and lying dictatorship who used every low-down and dirty trick to get Opposition party leaders disqualified from contesting the elections. That failed but it didn't matter because they rigged the vote in their favour. Proof of vote rigging and election fraud was blocked by two corrupt judges appointed by the dictatorship.
So where to now? The Opposition seems incapable of making the tough decisions needed to defend the rights and freedoms of their voters. In 2014 they succumbed and rolled over, accepting the rigged election results despite evidence to the contrary.
In 2018 they showed once again that they are incapable of making the tough decisions. They appeared confident that they could overturn the rigged election results in Fiji's corrupt courts controlled by the same Government and system that had usurped the rights and freedoms of the people in the first place. Naturally their attempt failed!
The actions taken by the Opposition suggest they are unaware that there is NO RULE OF LAW IN FIJI under the Bainimarama/Khaiyum dictatorship! And that it doesn't matter one aorta if they are legally correct or receive 99.9% of the vote, they will always lose and they did.
The rigged 2018 election results showed the dictatorship had won by the slimiest number of votes, but anyone with half a brain knows that it was FAKE! This is the same system that reported a majority win for the dictator in 2014. But no one is allowed to audit or look at the final results to prove it was accurate and true. I wonder why!
Trying to overturn and win the 2018 election in the dictatorship's corrupt courts was a joke! Many were clearly under the delusion that they would win! Wow!
Now the Opposition looks to have exhausted their options under the illegal 2013 Constitution! So now what? Nothing!
Looks like they are prepared to just sit back and wait to repeat the same process in the next election!
But wait! Maybe, just maybe, somehow, by luck, third time lucky, fingers crossed, the Opposition will again get the majority vote but this time it will be different. Yeah, this time the corrupt dictatorship that is running from the law will decide to accept the results and step down from power! And pigs will fly!
An old timer offered an interesting perspective. In Fiji, said the old timer, there is a basic mentality that expects everything to be given for free. That it's always somebody else's responsibility to fix their problems, even Australia, New Zealand, America or God should do something about it. Anybody else but them! So they just sit back and avoid any responsibility and under their deluded thinking if you ignore it long enough it will just all go away, disappear or sort itself out!
Not all Fijians would subscribe to this stupid and backward thinking, but some old timers suggest that it has become a part of their psyche. Then this needs to change!
The price of liberty and FREEDOM is high! No amount of fancy words, screaming alleluia or running around the topic will give you that freedom from Fiji's corrupt, lying and murderer dictator!
To be free you must be prepared to pay the price or step aside and make way for those who can make the tough decisions to lead the people to freedom!
You can't get a better circus clown show than watching the corrupt and lying FijiFirst [FFP] government officials in action. The FFP clowns are all natural, its automatic, no rehearsals needed.
In this real life pantomime Fiji's Minister for Education Rosy Akbar implements the directives of the corrupt AG-Khaiyum, as to who will be the Head teacher/Principal of a school. This they argue is based on merit. Yeah right!
Remember that Fiji's PM and dictator who failed fourth form twice and also ran his navy patrol boat aground, JV Bainimarama, appointed his unqualified and inexperienced children and relatives to senior government positions. No merit based appointments there! This was NEPOTISM!
Surely any person with half a brain would have worked out by now that the FFP's modus operandi [MO] includes saying one thing, but doing something else, the opposite! The last 12 years of dictatorship has clearly shown that there is one set of rules for the corrupt FFP and its supporters and another set of rules for everyone else.
Despite this fact the opposition parties remain content to stop at words. There has been no national protests, no outrage. Then they were somehow confident, while many of us weren't, that they could win their Election Petition in a court system heavily controlled by the dictatorship. It didn't work. But the process did show the nation what low-down and dirty steps the corrupt FFP will take to remain in power -- another rigged election with their manipulated judiciary, and not forgetting the 9th floor pyjamas party where FFP members locked themselves away for 48 hours to avoid being served the Election Petition.
And here we go again, this time the Minister of Education is appointing non-Catholics as Principals of Catholic schools. The Head of the Roman Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Father Peter Loy Chong, requested that the Education Ministry consult the catholic school management on appointments of school Principals. Fair enough!
But Fiji's biased and gnomic Human Rights Director, Ashwin Raj, responded that the request for faith based schools to be led by principals of that particular faith will only descend into profiling based not only on faith but other prohibited grounds of discrimination. Fiji's Human Rights and Anti- Discrimination director continued suggesting that "soon, there will be calls to have schools to be led by individuals from a particular ethnic community or indeed teachers of a preferred race or religion"......
Archbishop Chong replied that they are not discriminating. "What we are interested in is that we support and protect the special catholic character of our school and to be able to do that we need the leaders to be catholic as we want them to pass on the important values which we have.”
Meanwhile Education Minister Rosy Akbar told FBC News that their stance on the issue is clear. Schools will continue their operation with the heads appointed by the Ministry and should any organization not want to work with the Ministry appointed heads they can privatize their schools.
A few bloggers have voiced their keen interest to see a non-Muslim appointed as Principal of a Muslim school in Fiji.
Bainimarama's near death experience over Christmas provided a short glimpse of hope for the thousands of cheated voters of Fiji.
Military and medical sources were excited when they informed us of Bainimarama being put on life support and Khaiyum in panic mode.
Some were so excited at the news that they were going to go on to the streets and celebrate, but decided to wait for confirmation of the good news. It didn't come.
Sadly, the corrupt and lying dictator, who committed treason, murder, rape, voter fraud and insulted indigenous Fijians and stole their lands managed to walk out of hospital. Science and doctors managed to repair his pace maker claimed a source.
Photos taken soon after of the dictator, attending the funeral of Fiji's Speaker of Parliament, shows a pale, overweight and tired looking Bainimarama.
Fiji's National Toilet Paper Publication Fiji Sun has again reaffirmed their lack of shame and quality journalism, by naming Fiji's corrupt, lying and murderer dictator and absentee PM Voreqe Bainimarama as the Person of the Year for 2018.
According to the Toilet Paper Publication Bainimarama, who could not explain GDP or VAT and does not understand the purpose of the red carpet for guests, gets the highest award for his exemplary service and contribution to nation building. There is no contest for the top award they claim. Bainimarama deserves it, continued the Toilet Paper Publication, for his unwavering and decisive leadership on the domestic front and international stage. On really!
The National Toilet Paper Publication deliberately ignores the facts raised from the 2018 election result that shows that the:
Some suggest that the Fiji First Party lost the elections by such a large margin that their rigged voting system could only manage to give them a win by 147 votes while thousands of voters in Opposition strongholds were prevented from casting their votes.
Here's wishing the Bati of Fiji find their dentures [and galanas] in 2019 to free their people from the corrupt, lying and oppressive two-faced dictator JV Bainimarama and his vile puppet master Sayed-Khaiyum!
The first Law of Cybernetics [Requisite Variety] states that a system or person with the most flexibility of behaviour will control the system. A wise man Albert Einstein also said that “We can not solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”
Basically, the Fiji opposition parties are attempting to solve Fiji's greatest issue and threat using the same level of thinking that allowed Bainimarama to easily overthrow the last democratically elected government in December 2006!!
Since then Bainimarama has controlled Fiji because he is the most flexible using any and every dirty and low-down trick to achieve his goals!
JV Bainimarama's repertoire of dirty and low-down tricks for controlling Fiji has included sedition, treason, torture, murder, fear and intimidation, rape, nepotism, corruption, bribery, voter fraud, rigging the election, a corrupt judiciary, corrupt military officers, corrupt police officers, corrupt government officials, massive foreign loans, free hand-outs and lying to the people!
And what of the the opposition parties -- Still trying and hopping to "WIN" using the illegal 2013 Bainimarama/Khaiyum Constitution that was forced on to the people and the Fiji Courts and Legal system that are clearly all corrupt and controlled by Bainimarama and his puppet master! And the people still wonder why they keep getting stuck at every turn.
Yes, we cannot solve Fiji's greatest problem with the same level of thinking and attitudes that allowed it to be created in the first place. New ideas and attitudes are needed.
Remember, even David used a sling and a rock to defeat Goliath!
So here's wishing the Bati of Fiji find their dentures and galanas and use it to free our beloved country and its people in 2019!
FIJI'S Court of Disputed Returns disallowed 6 witnesses from giving evidence against the illegal and fraudulent actions they had witnessed being committed during the course of the 2018 Election. They were to give evidence against Bainimarama, Khaiyum, other members of the Fiji First Party and the Supervisor of Elections Saneem who is also the nephew of Khaiyum.
Remember that Judges Anjala Wati and Kamal Kumar were appointed by Khaiyum, and their decision to allow only two witnesses weakened the election petition, working in favour of Khaiyum and his fellow culprits.
The lawyer for both Rabuka and Prasad, Filimoni Vosarogo, had told the court that he had eight witnesses. But the logic given by the judges for refusing the six witnesses is that what they had claimed was clearly stated in the elections petition. Yeah right!
There is a big difference between just reading a statement and listening to the evidence being given by the witness.
The elections petition was subsequently withdrawn and the case was over.
Many suggest that this decision by the judges was deliberately done to hijack the case and prevent the truth about the vote rigging from being revealed to the people of Fiji.
If the truth was allowed to be revealed in court then the people would see and realize the extent of the corruption and vote rigging committed by the SOE, Khaiyum, Bainimarama and the Fiji First Party. More importantly the people would see that the Fiji First Party did not win the 2018 Election!
Senior “journalist” Jyoti Pratibha of the Fiji Sun (presumably with the support of Editor/Publisher Peter Lomas) last month decided to spew filth at Archbishop Peter Loy Chong, head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, calling him a “loser”.
In an article published by the Fiji Sun’s Jyoti Pratibha, whom many have come to suspect obtained her journalism qualifications out of a cereal box, gave her list of “losers” saying that Archbishop Peter Loy Chong is one of the biggest losers in this general election and did himself and the Church a lot of damage by spreading false information about Fiji’s economy.
The Archbishop, claims Pratibha, came under fire from his own flock and people are not quick to forget the role Catholic Church and the Archbishop played in spreading lies at a time when country needed facts. What a load of rubbish!
This was after Fiji’s corrupt and lying Minister for the Economy AG-Khaiyum, who has not won a case in court, said earlier that “It is unfortunate that the archbishop has chosen to make comments in perhaps areas that are not his expertise” Oh really!
Remember that the past 12 years have shown that Khaiyum frequently makes comments and decisions in many areas that are NOT his expertise! As a result he has destroyed Fiji’s sugar industry! Destroyed Fiji’s fishing industry and destroyed Fiji’s mahogany industry! And what about Fiji’s health system where patients must take their own beds, blankets and sheets, food, toilet paper and medicine! These are just a few examples of Khaiyum’s incompetence. Then there’s the education sector and national debt that has doubled to over $5 billion beyond Fiji’s ability to repay the debt.
But let’s look at Pratibha’s journalistic flatulence where she continues to spew out filth in areas she knows little about in support of Fiji’s corrupt dictatorship.
According to a number of Catholics we’ve spoken with, the Archbishop didn’t come under fire from his own flock. Nor did the Archbishop do himself and the Church a lot of damage by allegedly spreading false information about poverty in Fiji. In fact, according to Prof. Narsey, Archbishop Chong was on sound statistical grounds.
That same data, says Prof Narsey, which Khaiyum acknowledges to be the important indicators of poverty, also support Archbishop Chong’s concerns that large numbers of Fiji people are sinking further into poverty. This is despite the years of positive economic GDP growth often boasted of by the Bainimarama Government and Khaiyum. Remember that Fiji’s corrupt and lying dictator and absentee Prime Minister JV Bainimarama had no clue about the term VAT in a TV interview or the term GDP in a recent TV debate with Rabuka, the leader of the SODELPA Party. Yet Bainimarama saw it fit to pay himself a 350% pay rise and a $3,000 per day allowance. This is in addition to his free government supplied house, free electricity, free phone, free food, free booze and free cars! Meanwhile the people of Fiji received a $0.30 cents increase in minimum wage. This clearly shows that Bainimarama only cares about himself and only pretends to care for the poor during election time with free handouts to some and not all who need it.
There are no statistical grounds for Pratibha to pour scorn on Archbishop Chong’s interpretation of the poverty data, even if he used earlier data claims Narsey.
Much of the same FBS HIES data shows that poverty was increasing in the urban areas as a whole, in Urban Central Division, and in Urban Western Division, all where large numbers of people live.
The same data also shows that poverty also increased in Rural Central Division, Rural Northern Division (incredibly high of 53%) and even in Rural Eastern Division.
Professor Narsey suggests that one extremely doubtful statistic may have affected the national average into a decline: that poverty in the “Rural Western Division” REDUCED massively from the previous high of 43% to 27%. This would be fantastic, if it were true!
Narsey says that most experts must be asking how on earth could this be true, given the clear and horrible decline in the sugar industry where the bulk of the western rural people are employed, and the failure of the agricultural sector to grow.
What’s also interesting is the explanation given by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics for that fantastic drop in rural poverty in the Western Division which they claim was due to the boom in the tourism industry. But how can this be if the tourism industry has much fewer workers than the sugar industry and then it suddenly has overtaken the massive decline in the sugar industry which had far greater number of workers.
It’s a tragedy says Prof Narsey that the public of Fiji are being denied national statistics and facts that should be freely available as a matter of basic human right as citizens. It is sad, he continues, that decent law-abiding clerics such as Archbishop Chong (and Father Kevin Barr) have been excoriated by some in the media and the Government, for raising statistically legitimate concerns about the worsening welfare of the poor in Fiji and also the deeply moral and ethical concern that economic growth should not leave behind large numbers of the poor.

What a judicial farce! The Opposition was ordered by the Court of Disputed Returns to serve their election petitions personally on all 28 respondents consisting FijiFirst Party MPs and officials.
The pair of pathetic Judges had also stated on Tuesday that the respondents’ names would be struck out if the petitions were not served within 24 hours. Wow!!
The corrupt AG Khaiyum arranged for a so-called urgent 48 hour strategic meeting at Suvavou House, timed with the baliff's attempts to serve the election petitions on the individual respondents.
A leaked copy of the AG's message [dated 10 Dec 2018] informing the FFP ministers about the election petitions and on what to do if they are served was posted on Facebook.
So the AG and his band of puppet FFP ministers basically barricaded themselves on the 9th floor of Suvavou House to wait out the 24 hours. Only the Supervisor Of Elections Mohammed Saneem was served.
Military and police officers were also posted at the entrances to turn away all petitioners. The Court house was also surrounded by police who stopped the public from entry.
Remember that the FFP's conferences and meetings over the past 12 years were usually held at rather expensive hotels so its no wonder no one believes AG-Khaiyum who now claims that they were in an urgent meeting locked up for 48 hours, with plain mattresses to sleep on and food and personal clothing and bedding taken in.
This childish act only strengthens the view that the 2018 election results were rigged, which is why many are of the opinion that AG and his puppets are scared and were trying to avoid being petitioned.
The lawyer for the opposition had to then make application for a substitutive serving of the elections petition.
High Court Judges Justice Anjala Wati and Justice Kamal Kumar subsequently allowed the election petition to be advertised in the newspapers.
Justice Wati and Justice Kumar however claimed in their ruling that there is no evidence that the respondents had evaded [What a joke!], but they had to look at the larger interest of justice and noted the concerns of the petitioners. Wow!
The petitions have now been published in the newspapers so the FijiFirst parliamentarians and Faiyaz Koya have been served, except for the globe trotting and absent PM and puppet dictator JV Bainimarama. Interesting times ahead!

It’s interesting how Fiji’s COP 23 Climate Champion and Minister for National Security and Defence, Inia Seruiratu, told the MPGCA Finance Roundtable at the International Conference Center in Katowice, Poland, that “It should be clearly recognized that we the affected countries [of Climate Change] do not have the luxury of time for funds to arrive.” Oh really!
Meanwhile, Fiji is selling off valuable Fijian soil, native lands, that is being shipped off-shore! This devastating impact has nothing to do with the effects of climate change and everything to do with effects of greed and stupidity!
The incompetent Seruiratu says “we need stream-lined and swift disbursement of finance while recognising the accountabilities and responsibilities that come with it”. But Fiji’s record is riddled with corruption, lies and mismanagement! And this attitude will more than likely continue with any “Climate change” funds received. Or does a leopard change its spots!
Remember that over $150 million in cash donations was received after TC Winston had devastated Fiji in January 2016, yet its victims in 2018 still live in tents and their children attend schools in leaking and muddy tents! So where did all that money go? The donations are also banned from any audit. What are they hiding? More importantly, how will any Climate Change funds be treated any differently?
Seruiratu says “we need more innovative financing from the private sector to support sustainable financial flow to specific sectors to support specific initiatives”, but given their record it’s safe to suggest that they may only be after a “sustainable flow of finance” to feed their corrupt practices!
The Minister Seruiratu also said that “for developing states like Fiji, financing for adaptation is one of our priorities”, yeah right! This is just fancy words, rhetoric that the puppet is reading out, like he knows it.
The COP23 President, Fiji’s dictator and overpaid PM, JV Bainimarama, who couldn’t explain VAT or GDP, deliberately mismanaged $150 million in cash donations for the victims of TC Winston and also doubled Fiji’s national debt in the past 12 years beyond the nation’s ability to repay, and in so doing has proven that they are incapable of being trusted with any donations or the nations funds and that the climate change funds is just another way to access free money.
